Please be aware Glen Motz (Conservative Member of Parliament for Medicine Hat) began an Electronic Petition (e-2341) yesterday, December 17, 2019.
Many of you may feel that the proposed Liberal Ban of Semiautomatic rifles is certainly unjust and unfair, the means by which Minster Bill Blair wishes to enforce is even less just and by no means democratic.
Mr. Blair had announced earlier this month that the Liberal Party intends to use an Order in Council (OIC) to implement this ban.
By doing so, this issue will NOT go forth in the House of Common for debate…..it will simply become instant law.
Clearly, AR 15s were already targeted to be banned, however, there is no definition of what is else may be banned in Canada.
Anything that is semiauto and has a detachable magazine could be classified as a so-called “Assault Weapon”… even if it is classified as Non-Restricted.
In my opinion, Canadian Liberals want to follow the footsteps of the New Zealand government, in which virtually all semiautos (rifles and shotguns) in Canada could be banned…. Ruger 10/22s, Stag 10s, SKS etc
This petition is to prevent the OIC and bring this issue to the House of Commons.
Who knows, there may be Liberal MPs that represent rural ridings who don not support Blair and Trudea on this issue.
